Welcome from President, Serena Wieder, PhD.
With the increasing rates of mental health and developmental disorders in infants and young children, as well as the growing demand for culturally competent mental health professionals ICDL has recognized the need for a permanent, ongoing, state of the art graduate program that responds to these demands with a comprehensive framework.
- A number of disciplines have contributed to this growing body of knowledge including: psychology, psychiatry, neuroscience, speech pathology, occupational and physical therapy, social work, education, and counseling. The goal of the ICDL Graduate School is to enable students to master the insights of each of the contributing disciplines, understand the range and variations of healthy and disordered functioning in the early years of life, implement a unified developmental approach to research and clinical practice, and serve as leaders for future generations.
- Students are able to work with colleagues in national and international communities under the direction of distinguished faculty all from the comfort of their homes.

The ICDL Graduate School offers a PhD program in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and Developmental Disorders through a distance learning format for qualified applicants throughout the United States and abroad.
The ICDL Graduate School received approval from the State of California in May 2007 to operate as a degree granting institution. We were very pleased to receive institutional approval, bypassing the typical initial Temporary Approval stage. This rare form of approval was granted due to the outstanding quality of our application which convincingly demonstrated the quality of the school curriculum, faculty, and school leadership and management.
